The class was introduced with Change
Management as one of the components in the ITIL Service Support.
The class shared that the
availability of IT services is essential to almost all organization, in our
respective industry. In addition, we learned that organizations demand IT
department to consistently deliver changes effectively and efficiently without
any unfavorable impact to the services.
This lesson pointed out the significance
of being knowledgeable
The professor pointed
out ITIL Change Management which aims to minimize the risks of exposure, impact
and disruption to the service, primarily implementing changes successfully
first time and thus saving time and money.
I also understand the importance
and value of an effective and efficient ITIL Change Management Process to both
IT and organization.
The lesson also pointed the
importance of proper recording of Request for Change. Categorizing which
depends on RFCs Urgency and Impact was also discussed. We are also introduced
to the use of Priority Matrix.
On my opinion, effective
implementation of Change Management helps to improved risk assessment and
reduced negative impact of changes on the quality of services and Service Level
Agreements (SLAs). It also helps to increase productivity, reduce number of
urgent Changes and the back-out of erroneous Changes.
